This article is to help you learn how to post a new blog post in the WEO Platform. If you need edit a blog post, please see the article How to Edit a Blog Post in the WEO Platform.
1. Login to the WEO Platform. If you've already logged in and navigated away from the Main Page, navigate back to the Main Page.
2. You will now see the Main Page in the Platform. On this page, front and center, is a section called Your Services. If you have the blogs turned on in the backend of the WEO Platform and a User Profile with proper editing permissions, then you will see a Blog icon button link. Click on this icon link. If you do not have this feature turned on or the proper permissions, please reach out to our Client Experience Team (Support) for a support request.
3. To create a new blog post, click the Create New Blog Post button under the section labeled Blog posts being prepared. This will load a new page to enter your blog info.
4. Next enter the date you want the blog to be released on the website in the Planned Post Date field. The date needs to be formatted in Month/Day/Year. For example, 8/1/21 is the first day of August, 2021.
5. Next check the Article Author. There may only be one author to choose from or a drop-down menu with multiple selections. It should automatically be on the default author you have designated with WEO. However, if it is not, you can choose from the list. The list is populated from account User Profiles, so if you do not see a name that you would like to use for the blog post, a User Profile must be set up by someone at WEO.
6. Next enter the blog post title in the Display Title Field. You do not need to worry about the Internal Display field, but you can put the same name as the Display Title if you wish. If you want to, you can select the H1 checkbox after the field to make this an <h1> html tag.
7. After you enter the Display Title, you can also enter a Sub Title if you wish. This step is completely optional. If you do not want the post to have a Sub Title, simply leave this field blank.
8. Next enter the blog content into the Article body field.
9. After you have written or copy/pasted in your content, you can choose to add Article Tags (keywords) in the Article Tag field. If you add to this field, make sure to leave the “blog” keyword in the Article Tags field. This word is needed for the widget on the main Dental Blog page to pull the individual blog posts. If it is removed, this function will not work.
10. Once you have the blog content and any Article Tags ready, scroll down the page and click the Save & Preview button.
11. The page will reload and all that is left is to hit the Approve button, unless you are posting for a time in the past, then click on the Approve and Post Now button.
12. If you scheduled for your blog post to be posted in the future, it will go live on that day usually sometime in the morning PST. If you posted for a time in the past, you will need to recache your website for the new post to show up.
