If you find yourself here, you're most likely wanting to make some edits to your website and are asking the question: Do we have full access to our website? The short answer is no, and the reason for that lies in WEO's security measures.
So what parts of the website do we not have access to? That's a good question. Please be aware that clients (and third-parties) do not have access to some key areas of a site, such as the header and footer, for security reasons, and if you need any edits made to these sections please send them our way. There are also areas that we call Special Articles, such as a Homepage Banner section (often called a Hero Banner) that only WEO employees have access to in the WEO Platform, but only a few of these types of articles make up our websites. The primary CSS sheet is also not made available to clients so as to avoid global mistakes that cannot be reverted.
It is also good to note that we do not allow clients or third parties to place scripts on our sites, and any attempt to do so will result in an automatic loss of system access and an IP block to prevent attacks on our system. If the practice or third-party on behalf of the client would like to send us scripts for placement, we will be happy to do so, but our Dev Team does vet all scripts to evaluate for security risks to our system, and placement is not guaranteed.
So with that in mind, what do we have access to? Clients have access to all other Articles that make up the webpages on their website and the <head> section to add META tags for SEO-related work. Inline CSS is also permitted in all Articles for styling. For navigating the WEO Platform you can find more helpful articles here on our Help Center.
